IAS recommends dismissal of 2 cops in fatal shooting of Agusan del Norte fisherman

The Internal Affairs Service (IAS) of the Philippine National Police (PNP) has recommended the dismissal of two cops allegedly involved in the fatal shooting of a fisherman in Agusan Del Norte in July, a report said.

According to a report of Mark Makalalad on Super Radyo dzBB, IAS chief Inspector General Alfegar Triambulo said the recommendation has been forwarded to the Directorate for Personnel and Records Management.

The IAS probe showed that Police Senior Master Sergeant Rizyl Torricer and Patrolman Ariel Jay Panes intentionally killed the victim identified as Ikiel Kintanar.

Torricer and Panes allegedly shot Kintanar off the coast of Cabadbaran City during their seaborne patrol on July 10.

The cops ordered the group of Kintanar to stop but their boat accelerated.
