Abra, Baguio, Bohol placed under GCQ with heightened restrictions; Ilocos Norte under GCQ

The Inter-Agency Task Force placed Abra, Baguio City and Bohol under general community quarantine (GCQ) with heightened restrictions from September 24 up to 30.

In a statement, Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said Ilocos Norte, meanwhile, will be placed under GCQ during the same period.

Abra and Baguio City were initially under GCQ, while Bohol was under modified GCQ. Ilocos Norte was initially placed under modified enhanced community quarantine.

For the duration of the GCQ with heightened restrictions status in Abra, Baguio, and Bohol, indoor dine-in services may operate at 20% venue or seating capacity, while al fresco or outdoor dining services will be at 50% capacity.

Beauty salons, parlors, barbershops, and nail spas may operate up to 30% capacity, while outdoor tourist attractions will be allowed up to 30% venue capacity with strict adherence to minimum health protocols.

Business establishments with safety seal certifications will also be allowed to operate at an additional 10% beyond the prescribed on-site capacity or venue or seating capacity, whichever is applicable.

However, Roque said meetings, conventions, exhibition events, and social events in venue establishments will not be permitted.

Indoor sports courts and venues and indoor tourist attractions are also not allowed to operate.

Further, specialized markets of the Department of Tourism such as staycations without age restrictions will be allowed at such capacities, protocols and restrictions, as may be imposed by the said agency.

Religious gatherings will also be allowed up to 10% of the venue capacity.

Local government units may increase this allowable venue capacity to 30%, Roque said.

Gatherings for necrological services, wakes, inurnment, and funerals for those who died of causes other than COVID-19 and for the cremains of COVID-19 deceased will be allowed but limited to immediate family members.

Interzonal travel will also be allowed subject to restrictions of the LGU of destination.

Point-to-point travel to areas under GCQ and MGCQ will be allowed without age restrictions subject to an RT-PCR test before travel requirement for those under 18 years old and above 65 years old.

Other protocols and restrictions may be imposed by the DOT and LGU of destination, Roque added. -- BAP, GMA News
