Long queue for voter registration in Antipolo on last 2 days

With two days left for voter registration, a long queue was observed early Wednesday morning in Antipolo City, according to the report of Mark Makalalad on Super Radyo DZBB.

Before dawn, people lined up in front of Robinsons Place in Antipolo City, which is a satellite site for registration.

By about 5:30 a.m., some people were told that they missed the cutoff for registrants for the day and discussions ensued.

Commission on Elections (Comelec) officials are "likely" to extend voter registration amid clamor from the public and lawmakers, said spokesperson James Jimenez.

The poll body's en banc will meet on Wednesday to discuss the matter.

The House of Representatives on Monday approved on third and final reading the measure seeking to extend the voter's registration for Eleksyon 2022. BAP/KG, GMA News
