Municipal councilor of Liloy, Zamboanga del Norte killed in ambush

A municipal councilor of Liloy town in Zamboanga del Norte was killed in an ambush, according to a report on "Saksi"on Wednesday.

The victim was onboard his SUV when gunmen approached the vehicle and opened fire.

The police are conducting an investigation into the incident.

In a separate incident, a bodyguard of a vice mayoral candidate was shot dead in Datu Saudi Ampatuan, Maguindanao. One person was injured in the ambush.
