Young sampaguita sellers buy water for old man in need

Four young boys did not hesitate to come to the aid of an old man in need amid the smoke and commotion of a fire in their barangay.

According to a report by Bernadette Reyes on 24 Oras Weekend, when fire hit several houses on a street in Barangay Morales in Koronadal City, the boys—who were selling sampaguita in front of a restaurant nearby—ran to to the area to see what was happening.

When they got there, the boys noticed an old man sitting to the side, looking pale and unwell. They immediately ran to a nearby bakery to buy water for him.

Rudy Pama, 71, said that his blood pressure shot up due to fatigue and stress from the fire, which had affected his house.

"When they brought me outside, I leaned against the truck, and that's when I felt dizzy. I felt ill," he said in Bisaya.

One of the boys, Sandai, said that he wanted to help Pama because he was reminded of his late grandmother when he saw the old man.

Pama in turn thanked the boys for helping him in his time of need. — BM, GMA News
