6 persons kidnapped in Batangas

Six persons were kidnapped by unidentified armed men in Laurel, Batangas last Friday.

According to Chino Gaston's report on "24 Oras" on Tuesday, eight persons, who went on a vacation in Matabungkay, were on their way home to Cavite when armed men intercepted them along the Nasugbu-Tagaytay Highway.

The armed men forced the victims out of their vehicle and dragged them into a white van.

Two of the victims were able to escape and reported the incident to the Laurel police.

"Tumako po kami sa may right side na may space. Mayroon po doong hagdan na pababa. Ilang sandali, lumabas na 'yong guard at sinabing wala na raw po," one of the victims said.

Laurel Police officer-in-charge Police Captain Errol Frejas said they found the victims' rented vehicle abandoned in Calamba, Laguna.

Frejas said they are still investigating the motive but added that one of the victims was involved in illegal drugs in November 2020.

"Sa ngayon, iniimbestigahan pa rin namin pero mayroong isa dito sa mga nawawala ay involved sa illegal drugs. Nahuli po siya noong November 2020 dito sa San Jose, Batangas," he said.

The suspects have yet to contact the victims' families.—Ma. Angelica Garcia/LDF, GMA News
