Cebu City Mayor Edgardo Labella passes away

Cebu City Mayor Edgardo Labella passed away early Friday morning, John Kim Bote reported on Super Radyo's DZBB.

Labella was 70 years old.

Elmer "Jojo" Labella, the mayor's brother confirmed the report.

The mayor died at 3:15 a.m. on Friday while confined at the Perpetual Succour Hospital.

Labella filed for a medical leave several times this year citing health reasons.

In October he filed an indefinite leave of absence upon the advice of his doctors due to pneumonia. -- BAP, GMA News
