From Tripoli to Malacañang: Timeline of the Mindanao peace process


After the outbreak of hostilities with Muslim separatists in the southern Philippines in the 1960s, the national government has sought to forge peace with the rebels and create a political solution to the armed conflict. The timeline below traces the steps that have been taken in the last four decades, culminating in the signing of the peace deal with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front on Monday, October 15.
