After the EDSA People Power Revolution in 1986, Ferdinand Marcos and his family fled to Hawaii in a United States Air Force C-130.
Upon arrival at Hickam Air Force Base in Hawaii, the Marcos family filled out an official Customs list of their "household effects."
In her book "The Marcoses and the Missing Filipino Millions," journalist Caroline Kennedy has looked into the contents of the list, which she said "reads like pure fantasy."
In the book, Kennedy writes that the dictator's wife Imelda Marcos has done everything — including lie and bribe — to obscure the true nature of their assets.
"If you know how rich you are, you aren't rich," Kennedy quotes the former first lady saying, "I have no idea how rich I am!" —Aya Tantiangco and Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/JST, GMA News
