Mga kakandidato sa pagka-senador na sasalain ng Comelec, umabot sa 84


Umabot sa 84 katao ang naghain ng kanilang certificates of candidacy (COCs) na maglalaban-laban sa 12 puwesto sa Senado na pabobotohan sa darating na May 2013 mid-term election. Gaya ng ipinalabas na direktiba, itinigil ng Commission on Elections (Comelec) ang pagtanggap ng COC pagsapit ng 5:00 p.m. nitong Biyernes. Gayunman, sasalain pa ng Comelec ang 84 pangalan para alisin sa listahan ng balota ang mga tinatawag na “nuisance" candidate o panggulo. Inaasahan na ilalabas ng Comelec sa Disyembre ang pinal na listahan ng mga kandidatong senador. Pormal naman na magsisimula ang kampanya sa Pebrero 2013.
