Antipolo barangay tries to beat deadline for cash aid distribution

It was an early start of the day for residents of Barangay Cupang in Antipolo City, Rizal who are qualified to receive the government's emergency cash subsidy in light of the COVID-19 crisis.

A tweet by Super Radyo dzBB's Mark Makalalad on Thursday showed the beneficiaries lining up for the cash aid under the Social Amelioration Program early.

Around 18 million low-income families were targeted to receive monthly cash subsidies ranging from P5,000 to P8,000 for two months as mandated by the Bayanihan to Heal as One Act (Republic Act 11469).

The deadline for the distribution was on May 7 except in the National Capital Region where it was extended until May 10. --KBK, GMA News
