Typhoon Ompong batters Hong Kong after leaving PHL

After leaving a swathe of destruction in the Philippines, Typhoon Ompong (Mangkhut) lashed Hong Kong on Sunday.

A YouScooper sent a video of to GMA News showing the typhoon battering Hong Kong with heavy rains and gusts of strong winds.

Mangkhut entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Wednesday barreled through northern Luzon after it made landfall in Baggao, Cagayan at dawn on Saturday.

It exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility Saturday night, leaving at least 29 people dead and several others missing, and churned toward Hong Kong on Sunday. —Llanesca T. Panti/LBG, GMA News
