Worldwide coronavirus cases reach 24.61 million, death toll at 832,804

More than 24.61 million people have been reported to be infected by the novel coronavirus globally and 832,804 have died, according to a Reuters tally.

Infections have been reported in more than 210 countries and territories since the first cases were identified in China in December 2019.

The countries with the most number of coronavirus cases are as follows:

• US: 5,885,178 cases; 180,859 deaths
• Brazil: 3,761,391 cases; 118,649 deaths
• India: 3,387,500 cases; 61,529 deaths

• Russia: 980,405 cases; 16,914 deaths
• Peru: 621,997 deaths; 28,277 deaths

The Philippines is 22nd on the list with 209,544 confirmed cases and 3,325 deaths. —Reuters
