Worldwide coronavirus cases cross 41.99 million, death toll at 1,140,145

TOKYO - More than 41.99 million people have been reported to be infected by the novel coronavirus globally and 1,140,145? have died, according to a Reuters tally.

Infections have been reported in more than 210 countries and territories since the first cases were identified in China in December 2019.

The top five countries with the most number of cases are:

United States - 223,226 deaths out of 8,444,165 cases

India - 117,306 deaths out of 7,761,312 cases
Brazil- 155,900 deaths out of 5,323,630 cases
Russia - 25,525 deaths out of 1,480,646 cases
Argentina - 27,957 deaths out of 1,053,650 cases
