Worldwide coronavirus cases cross 66.82M, death toll at 1,537,967 —Reuters tally

More than 66.82 million people have been reported to be infected by the novel coronavirus globally and 1,537,967 have died, according to a Reuters tally.
   
Infections have been reported in more than 210 countries and territories since the first cases were identified in China in December 2019.

The US leads with 14,730,092 cases and 282,253 deaths.

It was followed by:

• India: 9,677,203 cases and 140,573 deaths
• Brazil: 6,603,540 cases and 176,941 deaths
• Russia: 2,488,912 cases and 43,597 deaths
• France: 2,292,497 cases and 55,155 deaths

The Philippines has recorded 441,399 cases and 8,572 deaths as of Sunday. —Reuters
