Worldwide coronavirus cases cross 75.06M, death toll at 1,679,707 —Reuters tally

More than 75.06 million people have been reported to be infected by the novel coronavirus globally and 1,679,707 have died, according to a Reuters tally.
   
Infections have been reported in more than 210 countries and territories since the first cases were identified in China in December 2019.

The US leads with 17,423,799 cases and 313,842 deaths.

It was followed by:

• India: 10,004,599 cases and 145,136 deaths
• Brazil: 7,162,978 cases and 185,650 deaths

• France: 2,460,555 cases and 60,418 deaths

The Philippines is 28th on the list with 458,044 cases and 8,911 deaths. —Reuters
