Worldwide coronavirus cases cross 85.88M, death toll at 1,859,549 —Reuters tally

More than 85.88 million people have been reported to be infected by the novel coronavirus globally and 1,859,549 have died, according to a Reuters tally.
   
Infections have been reported in more than 210 countries and territories since the first cases were identified in China in December 2019.

The US leads with 20,737,351 cases and 353,451 deaths.

It was followed by:

• India: 10,356,844 cases and 149,850 deaths

• Russia: 3,284,384 cases and 59,506 deaths
• United Kingdom: 2,774,479 cases and 76,261 deaths

The Philippines is 29th on the list with 479,693 cases and 9,321 deaths. —Reuters
