No Filipinos were hurt in an explosion at a bakery in Paris, France on Saturday, the Department of Foreign Affairs said.

"The Philippine Embassy in Paris said it was informed by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs that none of the three fatalities or the almost 50 who were injured in the blast was from the Philippines," the DFA said in a statement on Sunday.

The Philippine Embassy in the French capital already extended its condolences to the families of the victims.

A gas leak was believed to be the cause of the explosion.

Around 25,000 Filipinos are currently in France, with a majority of them staying in Paris, the department said. — Dona Magsino/BM, GMA News
