Abused, duped OFW, rescued in Dubai

A Filipino woman who was allegedly abused and duped by her employer is now in the custody of the Philippine Overseas Labor Office in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

According to a report on "Balitanghali", the victim said she had disagreements with her employer who abused her physically. She decided to leave and ask to be brought to her agency, according to a Balitanghali report on Friday.

But instead of bringing her to the agency, the employer dropped her off to an unfamiliar place and her baggage and passport were taken away.

The migrant was rescued with the help of her fellow OFWs.

"Hindi ko na po iniisip 'yung mga nangyayari po sa akin. Basta po safe po ako dito. Maraming salamat po talaga dito sa Polo-Dubai," she said.
