A Filipino faced a United Arab Emirates (UAE) court this week for last year's grisly murder of a Filipina trader whom he allegedly stabbed several times, pushed her down his apartment window, then stabbed again.

The trader had been charged before the Court of First Instance with premeditated murder, UAE-based news site Khaleej Times reported on Friday.

The businessman was believed to have owed a huge sum to the victim, described as someone in her 50s.

During the hearing, the report said the court was told that the man, 49, "stabbed (the victim) several times, pushed her down his apartment window and went down to stab her again to death."

Investigation showed the man had lured the victim to a first-floor flat in Karama last Aug. 26, and stabbed her then pushed her off the window. He then stabbed her again on her chest and neck.

Days after her husband, 65, a Filipino manager, reported her missing, the victim's decomposing body was found in the boot of her car, which was abandoned in a sandy place in the Sharjah Industrial area.
An investigation showed that the Filipino defendant was the last to make phone calls with the victim.

While the defendant initially denied killing the trader, he admitted it a few hours later, the Khaleej Times report said.

The report also quoted the defendant as saying the victim ruined his and his family's lives due to her financial claims.

He lured the victim to his flat after he claimed that a Korean man wanted to do business with her.

At the flat, they had an argument where he stabbed the victim in the abdomen and hand when she tried to snatch the knife he was holding.

The defendant then pushed her from the window and went down to slit her throat. He then placed the victim's body in the boot of her car.

After the deed, he allegedly bought some Asian food and cigarettes, and messed up the car to mislead police. He also damaged the electrical parts inside the car, the report said.

However, the defendant was arrested outside his other flat in Al Rigga in Al Muraqqabat. - VVP, GMA News
