SoKor Pinoys send relief goods to kababayans in Ifugao

A group of overseas Filipino workers in South Korea has given relief food items to residents of Barangay  Bangar in Alfonso Lista, Ifugao as the province grapples with the impact of the coronavirus disease 2019 threat.

"Hindi lang ako ang nakapagisip ng pagbibigay ng refief goods para sa ating mga kababayan natin na lumalaban sa COVID-19 pandemic. Kasama ko ang nga ka-grupo ko at ito ang Team Spark," said Romeo Mondejar, 31, factory worker in Kyung Dong Co. Ltd, referring to some 15 OFWs who have been with him in the relief endeavor.

"Hindi kami lahat taga-Ifugao pero dahil sa idea ng aming kaibigan, naisip namin na dun na lang sa Ifugao maghatid ng tulong kasi mahirap nga naman makaaabot ang relief dun," he added during an interview via Messenger on May 1.

"Team Spark" is called so because it is meant to inspire each other and spark together as one. Aside from Ifugao, the group also delivered relief goods and snacks to all the frontliners in Sto. Domingo, Alicia, Isabela.

As of May 8, there were 10,822 confirmed cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) in South Korea, 256 have died and 9,484 have recovered.

"Hindi naman masyadong naapektuhan ang kumpanya ko ng pandemic. Hindi rin naman nabawasan ang aming mga sahod."

"Pero ang iba sa mga ka-group ko, bahagyang naakpektuhan pero hindi ganun kalala. Mabilis din kasi maka-recover ang South Korea." —LBG, GMA News
