Batch of 236 Pinoy seafarers repatriated from Germany

A batch of 236 Filipino seafarers repatriated from Hamburg, Germany arrived in the Philippines on Saturday.

According to a report on “24 Oras News Alert,” the Filipino crew members returned home via a chartered flight organized by various shipping companies.

The Filipino seafarers will first undergo mandatory 14-day quarantine before being brought home to their respective provinces.

German Ambassador to Manila Anke Reiffenstuel said about 2,500 Filipinos have already been repatriated from Germany since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, Reiffenstuel added there are still Filipinos stranded in the foreign country. —LBG, GMA News
