DFA: 47 more Filipinos abroad recover from COVID-19


The number of Filipinos abroad who have recovered from the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) rose to 6,174 on Tuesday after 47 more patients recovered from the illness, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

Meanwhile, 16 more have tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the total tally of cases to 10,086, while the death toll remained at 755.

At present, there are 3,157 Filipinos abroad undergoing treatment.

Data from the DFA showed a total of 1,157 COVID-19 cases in the Asia and the Pacific region. Of this, there are 350 patients undergoing treatment, 799 recoveries, and eight fatalities.

In the Middle East or Africa, there are 6,968 cases with 2,332 patients undergoing treatment. The region has reported 4,162 recoveries and 474 fatalities.

Europe has reported 1,166 COVID-19 cases with 312 patients undergoing treatment. A total of 759 patients in the region have recovered from the illness while 95 have succumbed to the disease.

Meanwhile, there are a total of 795 cases in the Americas. Of this, 163 patients are undergoing treatment while recoveries and fatalities were recorded at 454 and 178, respectively. — Joahna Lei Casilao/BM, GMA News
