Gov't eases quarantine for returning Pinoys who are fully vaccinated vs. COVID-19

The Philippines will reduce the quarantine period for arriving Filipinos who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to seven days from 10 starting July 1.

At a press briefing, presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said this shortened quarantine period will cover those coming from "green" or low-risk countries and those countries with a trustworthy process in issuing certificate of vaccination.

“The Department of Health will issue a list of these countries,” Roque said.

“They (fully vaccinated) will undergo required seven-day facility-based quarantine. Testing will be done on the fifth day,” he added.

An individual is considered fully vaccinated two weeks after he or she received the second dose of a two-dose vaccine and the single dose of the vaccine.

Vaccine brands to be recognized by the Philippine government are those issued emergency use authorization (EUA) by the local Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and those under the emergency use list of the World Health Organization. —KBK, GMA News
