POEA: Beware of text messages offering jobs abroad

The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) on Monday urged job seekers not to fall for text message scams offering jobs abroad.

In a “24 Oras” report, POEA Administrator Bernardo Olalia said scammers would send messages not only through text but also through online platforms.

Olalia disclosed that he even received a text message offering him a job at POEA.

He thus reminded the public that there is a proper application process for those who want to work abroad.

The official also advised Filipinos not to open the links attached to the messages.
