No Pinoys reported hurt in Jordan gas leak — embassy

The Philippine Embassy in Jordan on Tuesday said there were no Filipinos reported hurt in the chlorine gas leak at Jordan's Aqaba port that left at least 12 people dead and 251 more injured.

In a statement, the Embassy said they are closely monitoring the developments on the said incident.

“To date, there are no reports of Filipinos included among the casualties,” it said.

Officials on Monday said the leak came after a tank filled with 25 tonnes of chlorine gas being exported to Djibouti fell while being transported.

The Embassy thus advised the Filipinos in Aqaba to comply with all instructions from the local public safety officials.
