the DFA said 343 overseas Filipinos were no longer able to “legally” stay in Kuwait, while seven infants were traveling with their parents.

Acting Undersecretary for Migrant Workers’ Affairs Eduardo De Vega said that the department will continue to help overseas Filipinos in distress especially in going home with their families in the Philippines.

The DFA said this was the second repatriation flight organized by the department and the Philippine Embassy in Kuwait, and also the 9th flight chartered by the department this year.

Since the start of COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, at least 117 chartered flights have been organized by the DFA for the repatriation of overseas Filipinos who faced difficulties in returning home to the Philippines. — Richa Noriega/BM, GMA News
