First, biggest Filipino training center opens in Dubai, UAE


Dubai witnessed last week the opening of the first and the biggest Filipino training center in the United Arab Emirates.

Pinoy Education Workers Education and Reintegration (Power )Technical Center owner Engineer Jim Mahan said the center would benefit Filipino expatriates through the training courses offered by the training and education facility that is 100 percent Filipino-owned.

Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Secretary Isidro Lapeña, Philippine Ambassador Hjayceelyn Quintana, and Labor Attache Felicitas Bay were present at the center's inauguration.

Lapeña said TESDA is ready to extend training assistance to make Filipino workers competent.

CEO Mahan said the center offers various courses, including training program on  dressmaking, document controller, accounting, graphic design; and master class CCTV installation, fire alarm system, access control system, solar panel installation, and cruise ship crew training.

Ambassador Quintana lauded Mahan, saying: "You are the one who give me inspiration."

Also, Quintana congratulated the Filipinos who made the "biggest Pinoy training center" in UAE possible. —LBG, GMA News
