Pinay tourist killed in California hit-and-run; Pinay suspect arrested

A 48-year-old Filipina tourist was killed after being hit by two vehicles while crossing the street in California, according to an Unang Balita report on Wednesday.

Marianne Natividad, who was visiting California from Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, was reportedly hit first by an SUV.

Although the SUV stopped, the driver allegedly did nothing to help Natividad and instead left her lying on the street. It was then that a second passing vehicle hit her.

Authorities were able to arrest the driver of the SUV, identified as Delilah Paray, 65, also a Filipina. She is now detained, according to the California police.

No charges, however, will be filed against the driver of the second vehicle that hit Natividad, who was in California to visit friends.

A fundraising campaign was launched to help finance the repatriation of Natividad's remains to Dubai. —KBK, GMA News
