8-year old Pinoy receives Pope Francis’ papal cap

An 8-year old Filipino received Pope Francis' papal cap back in April in Rome, Italy after the child requested to simply touch the holy cap.

According to a report on GMA News TV's Balitanghali on Friday, the Pope saw Simon Caalaman during the 300th death anniversary of Saint John La Salle in Rome and quickly started a conversation with him.

Caalaman watched other children touch the Pope's holy cap and asked if he could do the same.

Struck with glee, the Pope, instead of merely just letting Caalaman touch his cap, removed his Holy Cap and put it on Simon's head.

Caalaman said that it was an answered prayer to be able to see let alone strike a conversation with the Pope. — Kaela Malig/RSJ, GMA News
