Police authorities in Abu Dhabi said that Filipinos in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) commit the least number of crimes among its residents, according to a Wednesday report by the Filipino Times.
According to the report, the Abu Dhabi police looked at the compliance as an indication of the "utmost" respect Filipinos held for the laws in the country.
“Filipinos commit the least [number of] crimes here in the UAE,” Lieutenant Colonel Bader Al Neyadi said in the First Filipino Community Forum.
Neyadi did not go through the numbers and nature of crimes in consideration of the UAE's multi-ethnic set-up, the article added.
The event, spearheaded by the Bayanihan Council and the Abu Dhabi Police, was held at the Abu Dhabi Headquarters Auditorium with 100 community leader attendees.
According to a post on the group's Facebook page, the Abu Dhabi Police extended their appreciation for the "overwhelming support and attendance" from the Philippine Embassy, POLO-OWWA, and the Filipino community.
"The forum enlightened relevant questions and opened up our desire to volunteer and help make Abu Dhabi maintain its peace, security and happiness," the post read. —Joahna Lei Casilao/LDF, GMA News
