OFW in Kuwait allegedly killed by employers died of ‘heart, respiration failure’ due to shock, multiple injuries

The 26-year-old Filipina migrant worker who was allegedly killed by her own employers in Kuwait died of “acute failure of the heart and respiration,” her death certificate showed.

Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III released a copy of Jeanelyn Villavende’s death certificate on Monday, according to GMA News’ JP Soriano.

The certificate indicates that the failure of her heart and lungs was due to “shock and multiple injuries vascular nervous system [sic].”

Villavende also suffered “multiple injuries [of the] vascular nervous system."

The OFW died just five months after flying out to Kuwait to work.

Bello earlier said a partial deployment ban to Kuwait will be implemented following Villavende’s death. 

The labor secretary said the ban may be lifted if the slain OFW’s employers are charged over her death. — Julia Mari Ornedo/MDM, GMA News
