17 more Pinoys recover from COVID-19 abroad —DFA

The number of Filipinos overseas who have recovered from the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) climbed to 774 on Thursday after 17 new recoveries were reported, the Department of Foreign Affairs said.

No new fatalities have also been reported as the death toll remained at 269.

Twelve additional Filipinos overseas, meanwhile, contracted the illness, bringing the total number of cases to 2,322. Of the number, 1,279 are undergoing treatment.

The DFA said Europe and the Middle East/Africa remain the hotspots of confirmed cases among Filipinos abroad.

These regions have 687 and 680 Filipino patients, respectively.

Meanwhile, the Asia Pacific Region had the fewest number of cases with 421 and the highest number of recoveries at 287.

The Americas, on the other hand, recorded the highest number of Filipino COVID-19 fatalities at 146. — Ma. Angelica Garcia/BM, GMA News
