24 more Filipinos abroad test positive for COVID-19 -DFA

The total number of Filipinos abroad who have tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) rose to 2,869 on Saturday after the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) reported 24 new infections.

The DFA also reported that 28 more patients have recovered from the virus, bringing the total to 975 while fatalities remained at 340.

Patients undergoing treatment decreased to 1,554.

Data from the DFA showed that recoveries in the Asia Pacific region increased to 349 with three new recoveries, while patients undergoing treatment decreased to 137. Fatalities, meanwhile, remained at two.

No new cases were reported in the Middle East or Africa, with patients undergoing treatment at 682, fatalities at 97, and recoveries at 130.

Meanwhile, total recoveries in Europe climbed to 259 with one more case, while fatalities and patients undergoing treatment remained at 91 and 467, respectively.

Recoveries in the Americas also increased to 237 with 24 more cases while fatalities remained at 150 and patients undergoing treatment decreased to 268. -MDM, GMA News
