13 more Pinoys abroad have COVID-19; total now at 5,405 —DFA

Thirteen more Filipinos overseas have been infected with the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), bringing the total number of cases to 5,405, the Department of Foreign Affairs said Monday.

The death toll also rose to 371 with one new fatality, while recoveries remained at 2,231.


Of the total number of infections, 2,803 are undergoing treatment for the illness.

The Middle East/Africa still reported the highest number of Filipino COVID-19 infections abroad with 3,368 including 125 deaths, 1,327 recoveries, and 1,916 undergoing treatment.

Europe followed with 852 cases including 91 deaths, 293 recoveries, and 468 undergoing treatment.

The Americas, which has 662 infections, reported the most number of Filipino COVID-19 deaths at 153 while 244 have recovered, and 265 are undergoing treatment.

Meanwhile, the Asia Pacific Region had the fewest number of cases with 523 including two deaths, 367 recoveries, and 154 undergoing treatment.—AOL, GMA News
