12 more Filipinos abroad tested positive for COVID-19 —DFA

Twelve more Filipinos abroad have tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), bringing the total to 6,140, the Department of Foreign Affairs announced Saturday.

Likewise, the DFA said that 12 more patients have succumbed to the illness, bringing the death toll to 495. But recoveries rose to 2,851 with three new survivors.

"Total recoveries today was also corrected with a case reclassified from recovered to fatality in [the] Middle East," the DFA said.

As of June 20, there were a total of 2,794 Pinoy patients undergoing treatment.

Data from the DFA show a total of 574 cases in the Asia Pacific region with 83 patients still undergoing treatment. Total recoveries rose to 492 with two new ones while fatalities remained at two.

The Middle East and Africa, meanwhile, reported a total of 3,944 cases with 2,018 patients still undergoing treatment. Total recoveries were recorded at 1,691 while fatalities jumped to 235 with 12 new deaths.

In Europe, total number of cases was at 937 while patients undergoing treatment remained at 538, recoveries at 305,and fatalities at 94.

Meanwhile, there are 685 total cases in the Americas. Total recoveries increased by one to 363 while fatalities and patients undergoing treatment remained at 164 and 158, respectively. —LBG, GMA News
