DFA: Filipinos abroad with COVID-19 now at 8,872 with 3 new infections

The number of Filipinos abroad who tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) rose to 8,872 on Tuesday with three new infections, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

The DFA also announced that one more patient have recovered from the virus, bringing the total to 5,277, while the death toll remained at 618.

As of July 14, there are 2,977 patients undergoing treatment.

Based on data from the DFA, there are a total of 688 COVID-19 cases in the Asia Pacific Region with 126 patients still undergoing treatment. Recoveries and fatalities were recorded at 557 and five, respectively.

In the Middle East or Africa, total cases were at 6,431 cases with 2,241 patients undergoing treatment. One more recovery brought the total to 3,841 while fatalities remained at 349.

Europe reported a total of 1,054 cases with 490 patients undergoing treatment. Recoveries and fatalities remained at 469 and 95, respectively.

Meanwhile, no new cases were reported in the Americas. Total cases remained at 669, patients undergoing treatment at 120, recoveries at 410, and fatalities at 169. — RSJ, GMA News
