Pinay threatened, gets racist slur after spurning man in Canada

A Canadian who failed to get a Filipino woman's number in Edmonton, Alberta tried to attack her at her apartment, threatening to kill her while throwing a racial slur.

According to Lei Alviz's report on "24 Oras", the man was caught on video threatening Patricia Medrano outside her apartment unit.

"I'll kill you... I'll decapitate you," the suspect said.

"Filipino... get out of Canada," he added.

Medrano said the man became violent after she refused to give her contact information.

"Sumisigaw na po kasi siya sa may hallway, tinatanong niya, sabi niya 'can I ask [for] your name' and  then tinatanong po niya 'yung kapatid ko kung puwede po pang makuha 'yung number ko," Medrano said.

"Ngayon, sabi po ng kapatid ko sa kanya, 'No'," she added.

Medrano, who was bruised because of the incident, said she was traumatized by the incident.

"Ako po, I felt uncomfortable and uneasy. Sobrang unexpected din po talaga 'yung ganitong pangyayari," she said.

The Canadian has been arrested and prohibited from entering Medrano's building. He has also been charged with assault. -Joahna Lei Casilao/NB, GMA News
