DFA: 9 more Filipinos abroad are positive for COVID-19

Nine more Filipinos abroad have tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), bringing the total to 9,145, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

The DFA also announced that total recoveries rose to 5,369 with 9 new ones while one more fatality brought the death toll to 645.

As of July 21, there are 3,131 patients undergoing treatment.

Based on data from the DFA, there are a total of 767 cases in the Asia and the Pacific region. Of the total cases, 148 patients are undergoing treatment, 613 have recovered, and six have died.

In the Middle East or Africa, total cases were recorded at at 6,605 while patients undergoing treatment were at 2,380. Recoveries in the region were recorded at 3,850 and fatalities at 375.

Meanwhile, Europe has reported a total of 1,075. Of the figure, there are 484 patients undergoing treatment, 496 recoveries, and 95 deaths.

The Americas has, meanwhile, reported a total of 698 cases with 119 patients undergoing treatment, 410 recoveries, and 169 fatalities. — RSJ, GMA News
