27 more Filipinos abroad test positive for COVID-19

Twenty seven more Filipinos abroad have tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), bringing the total to 9,192, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

The DFA also announced that total recoveries rose to 5,378 with nine new ones while the death toll of Filipino nationals across the globe remained at 647.

At present, there are 3,167 patients still undergoing treatment.

Data from the DFA showed that a total of 792 cases in the Asia and the Pacific region with 167 patients still undergoing treatment. Recoveries were recorded at 619 and fatalities at six.

Meanwhile, the Middle East or Africa reported a total of 6,610 cases. Of this, 2,385 patients are undergoing treatment, 3,850 have recovered, and 375 have died.

In Europe, there are a total of 1,089 COVID-19 cases with 495 patients undergoing treatment. A total of 499 patients in the region have recovered while 95 have succumbed to the illness.

The Americas, meanwhile, has a total of 701 cases. Patients undergoing treatment in the region were recorded at 120, recoveries at 410, and fatalities at 171. — RSJ, GMA News
