6 more Filipinos abroad recover, 2 more die from COVID-19 —DFA

Six additional Filipinos overseas have defeated the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), bringing the total number of recoveries to 5,426, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday.

The number of Filipinos abroad who contracted the viral disease, meanwhile, rose to 9,305 with one new infection.

The DFA also recorded two new fatalities, raising the death toll to 655.

The Middle East/Africa remained the region with the most number of COVID-19 cases among Filipinos abroad at 6,636 with 383 deaths and 3,872 recoveries.

Europe still followed with 1,091 infections including 95 fatalities and 508 recoveries.

The Americas, meanwhile, has recorded 705 cases with 171 deaths and 411 recoveries.

In the Asia Pacific Region, a total of 823 Filipinos were infected with the illness. Of the number, six have died, while 635 have recovered. — Ma. Angelica Garcia/BM, GMA News
