DFA: Filipinos abroad with COVID-19 now at 9,692 with 65 new infections

The number of Filipinos abroad who have tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) rose to 9,692 on Thursday with 65 new infections, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

The DFA also announced that seven more patients have recovered from the illness, bringing the total to 5,737, while the death toll increased to 702 with seven fatalities.

As of August 6, there are 3,253 patients undergoing treatment.

Data from the DFA showed a total of 975 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Asia and the Pacific Region. Of this, there are 292 patients undergoing treatment, 676 recoveries, and seven fatalities.

In the Middle East or Africa, there are a total of 6,824 cases with 2,316 patients undergoing treatment. A total of 4,083 patients in the region have recovered while 425 have died.

Meanwhile, Europe has reported a total of 1,131 cases with 505 patients undergoing treatment, 531 recoveries, and 95 fatalities.

In the Americas, there are 762 COVID-19 cases. Among this, 140 patients are undergoing treatment, 447 have recovered, and 175 have succumbed to the illness. — RSJ, GMA News
