DFA: 17 more Filipinos abroad test positive for COVID-19

The number of Filipinos abroad who tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) increased to 9,774 on Tuesday after the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) reported 17 new infections.

Meanwhile, total recoveries remained at 5,790 and the death toll at 708.

At present, there are 3,276 patients undergoing treatment.

According to data from the DFA, there are a total of 998 cases in the Asia and the Pacific region. Of this 302 are undergoing treatment, 688 have recovered, and eight have died.

The Middle East or Africa has, meanwhile, reported a total of 6,849 cases with 2,311 patients undergoing treatment. A total of 4,108 patients in the region have recovered while 430 have succumbed to the illness.

In the Americas, there are a total of 784 cases with 162 patients undergoing treatment, 447 recoveries, and 175 fatalities.

Meanwhile, no new cases were reported in Europe with the total remaining at 1,143, patients undergoing treatment 501, recoveries at 547, and fatalities at 95. — DVM, GMA News
