DFA: 25 more Filipinos abroad test positive for COVID-19; total at 10,028

The number of Filipinos abroad who have tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) increased to 10,028 on Tuesday with 25 new infections, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

The DFA also reported that 15 more patients have recovered from the illness, bringing the total to 6,029, while the number of fatalities remained at 742.

As of August 25, there are 3,257 patients undergoing treatment.

Based on data from the DFA, there are 1,126 cases from the Asia and the Pacific region with 355 undergoing treatment. Of this, 763 have recovered while eight have succumbed to the illness.

In the Middle East or Africa, there are 6,949 cases. There are 2,332 patients undergoing treatment while 4,156 have recovered and 461 have died.

Europe has meanwhile reported a total of 1,158 cases. Among this, 407 are undergoing treatment, 656 have recovered, and 95 have died.

Meanwhile, there are a total of 795 cases in the Americas. A total of 163 patients in the region are undergoing treatment, 454 have recovered, and 178 are have died. â€” Joahna Lei Casilao/BM, GMA News
