DFA: Filipinos abroad with COVID-19 now at 10,041 as 6 new infections recorded

The number of Filipinos abroad who have tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) increased to 10,041 on Thursday after the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) reported six new infections.

Four more patients have also recovered from the illness, bringing the total to 6,080. Meanwhile, the number of fatalities remained at 742, making it the third consecutive day where no new deaths were reported.

At present, there are 3,219 patients still undergoing treatment.

Data from the DFA showed that there are a total of 1,133 cases in the Asia and the Pacific region with 360 patients undergoing treatment. A total of 765 patients have recovered while eight have died.

In the Middle East or Africa, there are 6,949 cases. Among this, 2,332 are undergoing treatment, 4,156 have recovered, and 461 have succumbed to the illness.

Meanwhile, there are a total of 1,164 cases in Europe with 364 patients undergoing treatment. The region has reported a total of 705 recoveries and 95 fatalities.

The Americas has reported a total of 795 cases. Of this, 163 patients are undergoing treatment, 454 have recovered, and 178 have died. — Joahna Lei Casilao/RSJ, GMA News
