Filipinos abroad with COVID-19 rise to 10,096

The number of Filipinos abroad who have tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) increased to 10,096 on Wednesday after the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) reported 10 new infections.

Three more patients have also recovered from the illness, bringing the total to 6,177, while two new fatalities brought the death toll to 757.

At present, there are 3,162 patients undergoing treatment.

Based on data from the DFA, there are a total of 1,157 cases in the Asia and the Pacific region. Of this, there are 350 patients undergoing treatment, 799 recoveries, and eight fatalities.

In the Middle East or Africa, there are 6,975 cases with 2,335 patients undergoing treatment. The region has recorded 4,164 recoveries and 476 fatalities.

Meanwhile, there are a total of 1,166 cases in Europe. The region has reported 311 patients undergoing treatment, 760 recoveries, and 95 fatalities.

The Americas has reported 798 cases with 166 patients undergoing treatment. A total of 454 patients have recovered while 178 have succumbed to the illness. â€” Joahna Lei Casilao/BM, GMA News
