12 more Pinoys abroad get COVID-19, total now at 10,129

There are now 10,129 overseas Filipinos infected with the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) after the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) logged 12 new infections on Monday.

The total number of recoveries rose to 6,323 after 42 more overseas Filipinos recovered, while the death toll rose to 763 with five new fatalities.

The other 3,043 patients are receiving treatment.

The Middle East/Africa region has the highest number of overseas Filipinos with COVID-19 at 6,986 with 4,170 recoveries and 482 deaths.

Europe has logged 1,168 Filipino COVID-19 cases, including 837 recoveries and 95 deaths.

In the Asia Pacific region, 1,177 overseas Filipinos have contracted COVID-19, 860 of whom have recovered while eight have died.

The Americas have the lowest number of COVID-19-positive Filipinos at 798 with 456 recoveries and 178 deaths.—Julia Mari Ornedo/LDF, GMA News
