DFA: 16 more Filipinos abroad tested positive for COVID-19

Sixteen more Filipinos abroad have tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), bringing the total tally to 10,339, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Wednesday.

The DFA also announced that total recoveries rose to 6,581 after 13 more patients have recovered from the illness while the death toll remained at 773.

The DFA said the total numbers of the confirmed and the recovered cases were adjusted due to an updated report from a foreign service post in Europe.

Meanwhile, at present, there are 2,985 patients still undergoing treatment.

Data from the DFA showed a total of 1,332 COVID-19 cases in the Asia and the Pacific Region. Of this, 325 are still undergoing treatment, 999 have recovered, and eight have succumbed to the illness.

The Middle East or Africa, meanwhile, has reported 7,027 cases with 2,296 patients still undergoing treatment. The region has reported a total of 4,239 recoveries and 492 fatalities.

A total of 1,173 cases have been recorded in Europe. This is composed of 197 patients who are undergoing treatment, 881 who have recovered, and 95 who have died.

Meanwhile, the Americas has reported a total of 807 cases with 167 patients undergoing treatment. There are a total of 462 recoveries and 178 fatalities recorded in the region.—AOL, GMA News
