Pinoy group in Qatar shares rice to pandemic-hit fellow Filipinos

A Filipino support group HERO [Helping, Empowering, Recognizing, OFWs] has begun donating 10 kilograms of rice to each of distressed OFWs in Qatar who register through its website, noting Pinoys' fondness of rice.

“Yes, namimigay ang HERO  ng 10kg na bigas sa lahat ng successful registrant as per the circulation form sa kahit sinong Pilipino, OFW man o hindi,” revealed 35-year-old planning manager of UrbaCon Trading & Contracting Company (UCC) Henry Dimaano, referring to H.E.R.O. Qatar, where he is the founding chairman.

Yung ulam kasi, puwede naman ang eggs, de-lata, or gulay,” he added in an interview via Messenger on September 29.

Dimaano has 24,000 kilos of rice currently.

“Meron akong total 24,000 kg then namimigay ako ng 10 kg per head.

Previously, Dimaano and his fellows in H.E.R.O. Qatar have worked with the Ministry of Interior there in distributing about 2,250 food baskets since the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic hit the Middle Eastern country.

—LBG, GMA News
