18 more Filipinos abroad recover from COVID-19 —DFA


Eighteen more Filipinos abroad have recovered from the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), bringing the total tally to 6,745 on Thursday, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

The DFA also announced that the number of total confirmed cases rose to 10,539 with five new infections while one more fatality brought the death toll to 793.

At present, there are 3,001 patients still undergoing treatment.

 

 

Data from the DFA showed that there are a total of 1,431 cases from the Asia and the Pacific Region with 357 patients undergoing treatment, 1,066 recoveries, and eight fatalities.

In the Middle East or Africa, there are 7,099 cases reported. Of this, 2,310 are still undergoing treatment while 4,277 have recovered and 512 have died.

Europe has reported 1,199 cases with 166 patients undergoing treatment. A total of 938 Filipino nationals in the region have recovered while 95 have succumbed to the illness.

Meanwhile, a total of 810 cases were reported in the Americas with 168 patients undergoing treatment, 464 recoveries, and 178 fatalities.—Joahna Lei Casilao/LDF, GMA News
